Meeting with the European Commission in Brussels

Mr. Rumyan Russinov, Sr. Advisor of NGO Organization Drom, visited Brussels to meet with Mr. Dan Doghi, Team Leader at the Non-Discrimination and Roma Coordination Unit of the Directorate General Justice and Consumers of the European Commission. Mr. Russinov shared updates of the work of NGO Organization Drom and he also presented to Mr. Doghi the context of the national strategies for Roma in Bulgaria and the key challenges they face at present. In addition, Mr. Russinov met also with Mr. Jonathan Lee, Communications and Advocacy Manager at the European Roma Rights Centre, based in Brussels. Mr. Lee expressed the hope that common ground could be found with Organization Drom. He pointed out that the membership of Drom in the Roma Rights Network initiated by the European Roma Rights Centre is a good basis for the inclusion of Drom as a partner in future European projects.
